Lori Lockwood

With more than two decades of experience planning weddings and events for family and friends, Lori’s passion for arts and crafts blossomed through floral design. Over the years, she has enjoyed creating simple, elegant arrangements that have graced the homes of her acquaintances, as well as elaborate displays for various church venues.
Her enthusiasm and keen eye for beauty naturally led her from wedding décor to wedding coordination. As she pursued her passion and commitment to excellence, Lori launched her career in Wedding and Event Planning & Design, gaining specialized training through QC Event Schools as an International Wedding Planning Professional, Preston Bailey floral design as a beta tester and Floral Stylist, and the Institute of Wedding & Event Design (IWED) as a Wedding & Event Designer. Her training strengthened her ability to bring thoughtful design, style, and elegance to every event. She also served as an instructor for Lovegevity University’s Wedding Planning Institute, sharing her knowledge with aspiring wedding planners.
Lori’s event planning experience has since grown to include a heartfelt passion for retreat planning. Through her work with DOY Sister to Sister women’s retreats, she brings together her creativity, organizational skills, and love of meaningful fellowship to help create Christ-centered experiences where women can step away from daily responsibilities, draw closer to God, and find opportunities for rest, reflection, and connection.
Through Embellished Signature Events, Lori now extends her retreat planning services to churches and organizations. Her services include theme and itinerary development, registration coordination, venue coordination, and on-site management. She works with each group to shape an experience that reflects its vision and purpose, with thoughtful attention to both the practical details and the atmosphere that makes guests feel welcomed and cared for.
Growing up, Lori often heard her father say, “Good, Better, Best…never let it rest, until the good is better and the better is your best.” These are the words she lives by and carries into her work at Embellished, committing herself to excellence from beginning to end. Whether planning a wedding, designing a special celebration, or coordinating a retreat, Lori’s care and attention to the little details help each client turn their vision into a reality.

Kitina Watson
Co-Director of Planning & Operations
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and more than 20 years of event-planning experience, Kitina Watson brings seasoned leadership, thoughtful organization, and a passion for serving women to her role. For the past five years, she has partnered with Lori Lockwood to lead the planning and coordination of DOY Sister to Sister women’s retreats, overseeing every detail from the initial vision through on-site operations.
Combining professional expertise with a heart for serving women, Kitina helps create welcoming, well-organized, Christ-centered experiences. Her thoughtful coordination and collaborative approach support the retreats’ mission of offering women space to draw closer to God, rest, reflect, and build lasting relationships through faith and fellowship.
